Why choose Samuel Wood Bespoke Kitchens?

Unlike most kitchen companies, we are one of a very few who offer a complete, turnkey service of design, manufacture, installation and finishing as a service. This way the whole kitchen process is undertaken by us and ensures a smooth transition and enjoyable process for our customers.
What type of kitchens do you make?

We have two main types of kitchen - face framed (traditional) and slab fronted (contemporary).
Each kitchen we make is truly unique to our customer and their needs. Not one kitchen is the same. Every cabinet is designed to meticulously fit the space of our customers' home. We have been known to create kitchen cabinets that are taller than standard cabinets to make kitchen life easier for our taller customers!

What materials do you use?

All are internal carcases are made from hardwood and are sealed with two coats of wood warming sealer and two coats of top coat lacquer. We ensure that we seal all of the carcase including the back panel to ensure that the cabinet is fully protected and durable.

All our doors are made out of solid hardwood and can be painted to a client's own choice. We can colour match to any Farrow and Ball, Little Greene and Dulux colour. All our doors are sanded to a fine finish, then applied with two coats of undercoat and two coats of top coat.
We finish the painting process on site by hand painting the doors and cabinetry.

All our drawers are made from solid oak and have dovetail joints in them. The drawers are finished off with three coats of clear lacquer. We use Blum soft close runners on all our drawers as standard.

Your kitchen is made from start to finish in our North Devon workshop. All our timber is locally supplied and FSC standard.

How long will my kitchen take to make?

As a guide, each kitchen tends to take around 4-8 weeks to make in the workshop. A further 1-2 weeks on site fitting which would include the templating and fitting of worktops. Once the kitchen is installed we will re-visit for a follow up meeting to go over any snags or issues that may arise.

What are your lead times?

If you know you are going to replace your kitchen or installing a new one alongside a building project, then get in touch with us as soon as you can to get the ball rolling. We offer a complimentary design discussion that can be done over the phone or zoom to start discussing your kitchen. The sooner you begin the process, the more time there is to ensure we give you the best possible kitchen. Our lead times are variable and we can generally work with most time frames. Most of our kitchens take around a year to design, edit and evolve around our client's needs. However, we can also work with much shorter lead times if needed.
